They spent their formative years sloshing around in Florida’s humid, surreal wetlands, sailing the rivers and oceans, and visiting family all through Appalachia. Growing up queer in a southern small town meant that a lot of the time, Ollie had to find their own friends, and make their own fun. A child’s imagination left to run rampant, and a landscape with a strange, old magic of its own provided the bedrock for all the different stories they love, and tell, today. People say “write what you know,” and well, Ollie knows weird. If you want to find them, look for people playing Dungeons and Dragons, or watching Indian cinema… or just go out to a swamp nearby and start yelling. They’ll hear you eventually.
