Wyatt Claywell left Kentucky, where he was raised in a life of small time crime in the hollers of Blackwater County, to pursue his transition and to join the U.S. Marshal Service.

Mordecai Folsom remained in Blackwater. He took Wyatt’s place as the heir apparent of the Folsom crime ring, a family business of drug runners and robbers, but he never stopped dreaming of escaping his hometown.

The Folsom Family, guided by Mordecai’s ambition, has spread their roots into every corner of Blackwater county, and things that had slept long and deeply below the coal-rich hills are beginning to take note.

And as Wyatt makes his return to the hollers that he abandoned so long ago, and the strings of his and Mordecai’s fates once more entangle, things begin to wake.
